A doorbell camera is basically a video intercom system that you can place at any door of your home or business and see who is at that door.

Which digital motion detector camera should you select? Well folks, that’s a hard question to answer because I don’t know your particular security needs.

There are so many to choose from. One motion detector camera that I really like the looks of and it’s capabilities, is the Cisco-Linksys home monitoring camera. The features are great and it’s an affordable motion detector camera. This camera is also wireless and that’s the only way to go in my opinion.

If you don’t have a big budget for your home security, take a look at this camera to see if it will fill your requirements. This little digital motion detector camera outputs very high quality video and audio. It’s also small and lightweight. That’s equally important because most people will install these cameras in a covert position. I never install cameras in the wide open. I try to hide them a little.

This motion detector camera is made to send video to your computer or even your smartphone.

Here is what makes this camera stand out in the pack. This camera is a stand alone camera. What I mean by that is that it is self contained with it’s own web server. This camera will connect to an available network. You can connect it wireless or over an ethernet connection (wired). It produces a video stream up to 640 x 480 in size.

Today I want to share with you what I feel may be the best cheap motion detector camera available today. To many of us, price is a factor. If you need an inexpensive motion detector camera, I want you to check out this mini wireless camera.

To find a security camera with audio at such a low price is rare. The reviews on this camera are pretty amazing and the way some people are using this surveillance camera is quite unique.

Some of the features of this mini wireless camera that I like is that it can be operated on AC or battery power. The manufacturer states that the range on this camera is 150′ but I’ve read reviews that it will work up to 200′ if there are no obstructions.

This camera works well with older TV’s or even the newer LCD televisions. It is not an HD camera, but for this price, you can’t expect it to be.

A door wedge alarm may be the most simple, cheap and effective products you can purchase to ensure at least some degree of personal safety. Me and my wife never travel anywhere without bringing our door wedge alarm with us. We use it in motels and hotels mostly.

These door wedges are extremely inexpensive and they work great. All you are looking for is a way to scare off an intruder, these do the job well. Door security alarms work well as a backup also. A lot of people have home security alarms installed at their homes, but also keep a door wedge alarm sitting at their back door.

When they lock up at night, it’s easy to just take your foot and slide it into place when you lock your back door. This gives you a back-up system in case your main system should fail.

The alarm signal on this alarm is around 120 db which is very loud. I really like the Techko portable door wedge alarm because it will sound an alarm on vibration also, not just someone gaining entry by pushing the door open.

The Heath Zenith Motion Sensor Light is a great light with a lot of flexibility in it’s applications. The biggie for me is that no wiring is required.

The manufacturer claims that it will detect motion from up to 100 feet away. I think it will detect a little further than that. This light is mountable inside or outside.

Door Entry Alert

I need the option of having a door entry alert that can be portable.

One of the things I like most about an alarm system is the ability to change locations of where I need an alarm to go off. If you have an alarm system installed in your home or business, you know it is static and set in stone as to the location of your sensors.

Sometimes you need a portable alarm to use as a door entry alert. Or maybe you need to set a motion sensor at a window. This door entry alert really fills a need if you need portability or if from time to time you need to change the location of an alarm.

This first alert instant alarm is great when I have my Grandson spend the night with me. We usually put him in a room where I do not have any alarm sensors. I sleep downstairs and we put him upstairs. If he makes it out of his little daybed and walks through the door, I will know it immediately. This gives me piece of mind while I sleep at night. It makes a great toddler alarm.

This system actually serves as a backup security system for me at times. I have set it up in the garage occasionally, especially if i have any expensive tools or power equipment that I may have rented or borrowed.

I have been using video surveillance signs on my house for over 15 years. I was probably using them to try and fake out the bad guys before everyone else.

I can’t remember how I got my hands on those first signs and stickers, but I thought it would be a good idea to stick them on my doors and windows to fake people out. I remember a friend of mine seeing one in my window and asking when I installed a security system?

I told him that I hadn’t yet but I was going to. Needless to say, he wanted some video surveillance decals for himself to use at his house.

That was a long time ago and I remember taking my surveillance stickers and signs to my work where we had a nice scanner and printer and making copies for him. It turned out to be quite popular. I remember making a ton of stickers for my friends and family to use. My work had a real nice and expensive color printer. You didn’t find a lot of color printers in people’s homes back then.

I think it’s a good idea to use whatever means at your disposal to try and secure your home and business. Video surveillance systems are common these days and many people hide them from view. Covert video helps to capture unsuspecting criminals. I always tell my clients to place signs and stickers on the premises. Most thieves will select an easier target if they think you have a security system with video surveillance.

Take my advice, use video surveillance signs around your property. Use them especially if you do not have an alarm system installed. It’s better to make the bad guy think about it before he targets your property.

Today, I want to talk about the importance of a word when you are searching for the perfect home or business alarm system. If you choose your words carefully, you will get better search results. I have a lot of clients who tell me they want me to install a cheap surveillance system for them. I ask them are they looking for a cheap system or an inexpensive system? Almost immediately they change the word to inexpensive.

Are you looking for a cheap surveillance system or are you looking for an inexpensive surveillance system? There could be a huge difference in the words you use. Personally, I prefer a high quality inexpensive surveillance system. I ‘m sure you do too.

There are so many consumer choices that it can be easily to get overwhelmed. How do you make the correct choice? There are a couple of ways that I would recommend as you continue your search for a good cheap (inexpensive) surveillance system.

Video surveillance systems are a personal preference according to your individual requirements. If you have any personal connections to anyone in the security and alarm business, your best bet would be to consult with this individual. Many of my friends know that I am in the security business and I get a lot of people asking me for advice about their home or business alarms. Use instead the word inexpensive when searching for a term like cheap video surveillance system. You will get better results.

Ok, I just went to Amazon and typed in Inexpensive Surveillance System just to see what results I would get. I would consider the Logitech Indoor Master HD Security System. This surveillance system has over 34 people who have rated it as 5 star. I found this system based on the terms I typed in. If I had used the word “cheap” I may never have found this system.
